Abstract
Returnees have not been properly taken care of because the NCFRMI have not been fully operational. There are other bodies in the country like NEMA and SEMA performing the same function, and it becomes difficult for returnees, especially those in camps to know which officials are catering for them given the overlapping IDPs and returnees management agencies. In Nigeria, returnees are facing emotional and social stress. Most of the returnees are stigmatized by their fellow citizens, and this is damaging psychologically. The intentions of government in helping returnees to be reintegrated into society have not worked very well due to the corrupt and insincere attitude of government and NCFRMI officials. The present paper is on the importance for the creation of national commission for refugees, migrants, internally displaced persons (NCFRMI)
