Abstract
The record of natural disasters in India has been found in ancient text and mythological narrations. The history of natural disaster has been recorded in qualitative and quantitative way and the occurrences were narrated as, both, scientifically and mythologically. Most significant natural disaster is flood and earthquake, which has great impact on society. From the time of Indus Valley Civilisation we have the information of natural disaster and its impact on social life.
