Abstract

Live-in – relationship is not a new concept in India. We can trace its roots in Ancient India where particularly Rulers have such type of relationship. But socially it is considered as a taboo. Some tribal’s in Madhya Pradesh still exercise this type of relationship. As per Hindu and Muslim Laws such type of relationship are considered as sin. In modern society people live together without a legal wedlock. Act of marriage usually create mutual right and obligation which are not possible in  Live-in – relationship.
