Abstract

In many cases failure of individuals may be due to more than one case or factor, for such cases competing risk failure model is used instead of simple failure model. In this paper Rayleigh life time model is used as a model for competing risk failure analysis. The cases of failure are assumed independent for inference type-I interval censoring scheme is used. The point estimation and interval estimation are done based on maximum likelihood as well as Bootstrap method. The estimation is done for the parameters and survival function of the competing risk failure method. Non parametric estimation of survival function is also considered. A simulation study is done to study the behaviour of the estimator.
