Abstract

From time immemorial man has been in the search for avenues where he or she could invest in and earn a higher income. This search gave value to land, gold, various other commodities and over the past hundred years dealings in stock markets and exchange tradable funds have also increased. It is also seen that today more people are considering investing in stock markets and exchange tradable funds as a prospective choice. This paper intends to identify the behavioural variables that influence the decision making of retail investors and to study whether the demographic factors have an influence on the behavioural biases of retail investors.
