Abstract
Euthanasia is not a very explored field in the world. The practice of Euthanasia or mercy killing is the act of relieving a person from their pain and suffering due to an incurable illness. Euthanasia has been differentiated in a number of subtypes - Active Euthanasia, Passive Euthanasia, Voluntary Euthanasia, Involuntary Euthanasia and many more. The legalisation of Euthanasia in India was after the case of Aruna Shaunbaug. There are many countries in the world who have legalised the practice of Euthanasia like Belgium and Netherlands while other countries strongly oppose the practice of Euthanasia.
