Abstract
Acid reflux is a problem which may lead to several other diseases like peptic ulcer, Zollinger-Ellision syndrome and GERD. Thus, if this issue could be addressed within time, the risk of occurrence of other such diseases could be prevented. Omeprazole, our drug of choice acts as a proton pump inhibitor which blocks the gastric H+, K+ ATPase enzyme leading to the inhibition in gastric acid secretion.
