Abstract

The Consumer Protection Act of 1986 was one of the milestones in the significant socioeconomic
movement in the country. This act gives the consumer the right to pursue a remedy
against their poor-quality goods and services. Dispute Redressal Agencies have been
established under Consumer Protection Act-1986. Consumer Forums have been authorized
over the country at different levels to provide speedy, less expensive, and simple (hassle-free)
dispute redressal to the consumers. For attaining the objectives, section 9 of the Consumer
Protection Act provides three-tier dispute redressal agencies.
