Abstract
As the topic we are talking about is not new for us but some issues connected to it are unspoken.Traffic congestion has been one of the burning issues that most metropolitan cities are facing in spite of measures being taken to reduce and mitigate it.Modern social and economic configurations, shaped by car – oriented urban development & rapid Development in vehicle ownership,have build congestion as an inevitable reality of urban life. The growing impact of congestion is replicated in terms of deteriorating urban air quality besides other adverse effects on quality of urban living.Traffic monitoring and traffic management is the need of the hour. To eliminate road accidents and to save precious human life it is essential to find proper solution for traffic congestion.
