Abstract
The word itself is enough to mark its importance in the market.Yes,very rightly your data is caught for few dollars and the attacks behind it is nothing but Ransomware. Ransomware a malware designed to prevent access to the system until an attractive ransom is paid. This malware encrypts files and holds them hostage and can only be unlocked by certain decryption key until an amount is paid mostly in cryptocurrency, as cryptocurrency is entertained by cybercriminal/fraudsters. Ransomware works incognito it can do almost all the work without even contacting the fraudster through the internet, even if it does it uses encrypted channels for communicating with their controllers. This paper will discuss about its existence in the market,its presence in multiple fields like a corporate,small scale to large scale business and methods for Prevention, Detection, and Reaction.
