Isolation and Screening of An Extracellular Protease Producing Bacteria From Soil Sample

Abstract

An attempt to isolate bacteria, from local environment, which can produce extracellular protease, was made. We isolated and cultured an isolate for which physical and biochemical characterizations were performed. Gram staining, negative staining, acid fast staining, citrate and starch hydrolysis test, sucrose and glucose fermentation test were performed for this. Enzymatic activity was measured for the isolate culture.
