Abstract
Global warming and hike in fuel prices lead the global leaders to take immediate action to change the current energy scenario. The introduction of smart grid concept especially Distributed Generation (DG) made significant changes in energy sector. The DG such as solar PV aids in cleaner energy and provide cleaner energy. The buildings such as industrial and commercial effectively utilize the generation of solar PV. In this study, we proposed application of smart grid in a grocery store using Homer software. We simulate different combinations of configuration by sensitivity variables and find the optimum solution for cost minimization. With the Homer optimization the Cost of Energy(COE) is declined to Rs 4.96 from Rs 6.25.
