Abstract
Procalcitonin (PCT) is a biomarker for the diagnosis of bacterial infection and sepsis. The patients with bacterial infection are increasing day by day. Higher PCT values in serum sample shows that patient is suffering from bacterial infection. The first assays used to estimate PCT were based on the methods of manual immunochemistry (Brahms PCT LIA).
