Abstract

The energy economy and the environment are at risk with the increasing rate of CO2 emission, depletion of non-renewable energy resources and continuous rise of fossil-fuel demand. This urgency requires the use of clean and renewable energy. The gap between the energy generation and the demand can be accomplished by realizing efficient electrical energy storage system. Electrochemical energy storage systems offer the promising storage for power applications. In this context, safe, high energy density, rechargeable and low-cost batteries play a significant role for the energy storage. Hence, the Li-ion-Battery optimization process helps to determine the best solution among these to an extent. This paper presents types of Li-battery storage systems, strategy for improving the waste management techniques and the dynamics of storage system. The paper also includes the recycling and safety issues detailing the Li-ion rechargeable battery in the current scenario.
