Abstract

Metallo-β-lactamases (MBLs) is an enzyme which digests the most of the β-lactams class of antibiotics such as carbapenems and leads to a broad-spectrum antibiotic resistance for this class of antibiotics in the Pseudomonas aeruginosaand a number of another gram-negative bacteria. One of the important characteristic features of these resistance is that it cannot be reversed by any conventional β-lactamase inhibitors.
