Abstract
Considering the importance of Zinc (Zn) for plants and humans an experiment was planned to examine the effect of gibberellic acid (GA) and cytokinin to improve translocation and accumulation of Zn in wheat grains. Two varieties i.e. HD3086 and PBW343 were tested under various methods of Zn application i.e. control (no Zn application), soil application (5mg/kg of soil) and foliar application (0.5% Zn). In order to enhance translocation of Zn under each tested method, two plant growth regulators (10 ppm GA3 and 10 ppm cytokinin) were also used. Foliar application (0.5% ZnSO4) of Zn along with 10 ppm cytokinin was found effective in increasing grain yield and grain protein content.
