Abstract
The research paper is an attempt to analysis the close relationship between environment and development with special reference to Uttarakhand state. With the rise of human population and needs, development becomes essential for any society. At the same time, extensive development actions, equipped with modern science and technology, compelled us to think about the rapid environmental degradation. In developing and less developed countries like India, this issue becomes more alarming due to the lower quality of scientific and technological equipment and implementation methods.
