Abstract

This paper investigates the element of reminiscence through flashback in the novel The Kite Runner. The Kite Runner acknowledges the problems of war and agony in Afghanistan and Khaled Husseini questions about the identity and nationality through reminiscence. The childhood is an important phase of life that builds the future. Reminiscence is an individual memory that makes emotional through flashback. Khaled Husseini was migrated to America on returning back to his motherland Afghanistan, becomes sentimental and regretful remembering his childhood. He commentates on his personal incidents during the war period throughout the novel
