Abstract

Sports psychology focuses on the analysis of diverse psychological variables and cognitive processes affecting the athletes’ performance, concentrating on improving their cognitive abilities with the intention of maximizing efficiency. The present study aims at studying the differences in competitive anxiety and mental health among players. A sample consists of 80 players. (40 male and 40 female) was collected from various coaching centres of Ahmednagar city. The age group of Sample was 20 to 30 years. Mental health test by Dr, C.G. Deshpande and competitive sate anxiety inventory by Martens, e tal (1990) were used for data collection.
