Abstract

Veda Vyāsais amilestone creatorof thrilling themes, interesting plots, variety of characters,appropriate atmosphere, epigrammaticdialogues, supernatural style, appealing appearances, lucid lifestyle etc. in his well-versed epic theMahābhārata. As a male writer and poet, Veda Vyāsacould notempathize with the anguishes of any of the woman charactersin his creation and he is alsounable to touch the sentiments of female characters, especially Yajnaseni. He has portrayed vast scenarios of illogical stories and painted them with unheard painful voices of female characters. There is no doubt that the great epicMahābhāratahas been written from spiritual perspective and to maintain thespiritual wisdom in the society, but he has ignored the feelings of a woman. Vyāsa has donated a very prosperous asset to Indian mythology that, day by day,is thriving with great interest though revisionist works. The attraction of many great writers for this mythological richness, presents them with lots of resources to create their own world of views and opinions.
