Abstract

A CPW fed circular polarized rectangular slot antenna having polarization switching capability is proposed. The antenna consists of a cross shaped feedline, two rectangular parasitic patches, and two stubs connected to ground of antenna by pin-diodes. Switching of its polarization from RHCP to LHCP is obtained by proper control of on and off states of PIN-diodes. By adjusting the length of the grounded strip and size of theparasitic patches, the measured circular polarized bandwidth is obtained as high as 23.21% (1.6GHz-2.02GHz) with AR ≤ 3dB. Impedance bandwidth of 45.36% (1.5GHz-2.38GHz) with VSWR ≤ 2 is achieved.
