Abstract

The campus of Shri Shivaji College, Kandhar is on the bank of famous lake known
“Jagatung Sagar” in Navrangpura area of Kandhar. The college compus is very beautiful and
rich in biologically diverse. Therefore it is necessary for Botanist to know and eneumerate the
plants present in the college campus. The present paper deals with floristic account of flowering
plants including monocotelydons of campus. During present survey plants were collected
fortnightly for the period of three years (2017 to 2019) to find out seasonal variation of flora.
The climatic year may be divide into three short seasons, a moderately warm wet season from
June to September, a cool dry season from October to February and dry season from March to
May. The present investigation show a total of 177 plant species out of which 03 plant species
are of three different families of Gymnosperms and 174 plant species are of Angiosperms which
belongs to 140 genera and 64 families. It was also observed some plant species were dominant
in the campus flora.
