Abstract

This paper describes a Gaussian laser-beam's strong self-focusing scheme. In a plasma is added upward plasma-density ramp. To derive the differential equation that determines the progress of the spot size of the laser-beam with the propagation length, paraxial theory in the WKB approximation has been used. According to the laser parameters, for example, initial laser-beam length, initial laser-beam strength and plasma-density, a careful analysis is carried out on strong self-focusing. The results obtained numerically mean that the self-focusing is better with an increase in laser-beam initial spot width. In addition, the presence of an upward plasma-density ramp within the plasma-charged cone lead to a decrease in the laser-beam spot size resulting in a better self-focus.
