Abstract

In this research article, the whale optimization algorithm technique, which is a meta-heuristic technique, has been implemented for the optimization tool of the traditional proportional-integral-derivative controller. The three parameters of the PID controllers have been optimized by the WOA technique to control the speed of the DC motor. For the analysing the propounded controller, the proposed controller has been juxtaposed with the other optimization techniques based PID controller to control the speed for the same investigated DC motor system. The simulation result of the propounded controller has shown superior result collated to other optimization techniques based PID controller as well as the transient response parameters along with objective function value also yielded better outcome than other optimization techniques.
