Abstract
The aim of the study was to find out the difference in Emotional Maturity between adolescents from Joint family and adolescents from Nuclear family. Emotional maturity is measure of one's capacity to create a positive mental attitude. Emotions are our specific reactions to a particular event. They serve as a bridge between our thoughts and actions. The process of emotional maturity is never complete, for a person in good mental health continues to grow "mature" in this attitude towards life and towards him as long as he lives. The emotional maturity essentially involves emotional control. Hence the present study tries to compare the emotional maturity between adolescents from joint family and adolescents from nuclear family. For this study the 480 adolescents from joint family and nuclear family were selected. Adolescents studying in high schools and junior colleges In Ahmednagar city were taken as sample with age 13 to 17 yrs. The difference between adolescents from joint family and adolescents from nuclear family was derived using Emotional Maturity scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS
