Abstract
As a drug delivery system liquisolid (LS) technology is one of the current and modernized systems. As compare to traditional systems of drug delivery, LS system has different advantages. Instead of having similar process of production as of conventional drug delivery systems it plays a major role in improving the solubility of various drugs. Due to discrete chances of scale up and small cost of production, liquisolid technology is considered as one of the simplest process. At present, High molecular weight of various chemical bodies became the reason of less water solubility of these entities that results into declined rate of drug release and poor bioavailability. These technologies can be overcome by different other technologies for instance nanotechnology, pharmaceutical particle technology and so on. The major limitations of the above mentioned technologies are that they are not cost effective and above that these technologies comprises complicated machinery and sophisticated technology. Liquisolid technology plays an important role to incline the release rate of low or poorly water soluble drugs.
