Abstract
In this paper an attempt has been made to study the social infrastructure in Haryana along with inter-district disparities for the year 2000-01 and 2017-18. The study also analyzed the developed and less developed districts in social infrastructure. Simple statistical tools like mean and Coefficient of Variance have been used to measure the inter-district disparities. Composite index has been constructed to find out the development of districts. Principal Component Analysis has been used to get factor loadings and weights of selected indicators. It was found from the study that there are wide spread of disparities in the development levels of different districts. Rohtak district was found on top in 2000-01, but in 2017-18 Rohtak severely slipped down to 15th position due to poor performance in health infrastructure while in 2017-18 Bhiwani district was on the top position.
