Abstract

The present study was designed to assess the effects of entrepreneurial orientation (defined as innovativeness, risk-taking, aggressive competitiveness, proactiveness, autonomy) and psychological capital (defined as optimism, hope, self-efficacy and resilience) on youth. For the purpose a sample of 100 youngsters in the age range of 20-22 years was drawn randomly from three different colleges of Patiala.  The results suggest that entrepreneurial orientation and psychological capital exist only at a medium level. The improvement of psychological capital will directly influence entrepreneurial orientation and thus indirectly improving the performance. The entrepreneurial orientation also directly improves the performance. The findings have significant implications for enhancing entrepreneurial skills in the youth of Punjab. Moreover, the aspect of autonomy from the entrepreneurial orientation and the aspect of hope from the psychological capital are in a lower state, comparatively.
