Abstract

Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830-94) is one of the most prolific Victorian female poets. She was born in London on December 5, 1830 to the house of Italian professor Gabriele Rossetti and the half-Italian and half-English Mrs. Frances Polidori Rossetti. Christina was the youngest daughter of the couple. Along with her, they had two sons –Dante Gabriel, William Michael, and a daughter –Maria Francesca. Dante Gabriel and William Michael are well-known personalities in English literature. Christina also earned a name through her poetical and prose works. Maria is a forgotten name due to her meager participation in literary activities.
