Abstract

Preparation of cobalt µ-Peroxo Complex viz [(Co)2(en)2(dien)2O2] (ClO4)4.2H2O had been done by suitable procedure and the prepared complex was characterized by electronic spectroscopy and FTIR spectroscopy. The reaction rate had been determined potentiometrically with the help of calomel and platinum electrodes. The effect of acid concentration and the effect of complex concentration had been found to be first order each. Effect of substrate concentration was noticed to be zero order. The added salt concentration effect was observed to be minimal. From the effect of temperature on the rate of the reaction, the Arrhenius and thermodynamic parameters had been studied. Upon the experimental outcome, a predictable mechanism had been presented and considered as a mimic of a model system which can be viewed as a kinetical investigation.
