Abstract
E-Governance can be defined as the application of communication and information technology for providing government services, exchange of information, transactions, integration of previously existing services and information portals. It also helps in decreasing the cost of the administration. In India e-governance has developed into an effort in which the critical elements of government are imbibed such as “centralization of citizen, transparency of government process”. As it is clear fact that India is the country with largest population (density-wise) and to administrate the country which is an emerging as world leader e-governance is must in both in Government and corporate sector of India. In the present paper an attempt has been made to assess the role of the E-governance in modern administration.
