Quick Reference Code (QR Code) is a machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares, typically used for storing URLs or other information for reading by the camera on a Smartphone. In the last few years there has been tremendous growth in Quick Reference (QR) Code usages in the field of Marketing & Advertising. Marketers have been using them in billboards, magazines, web pages, and other marketing material. QR codes provide quick information about the product or service to the user’s device. QR code is contemporary form of Barcode in two dimensional ways. It has very high data storage facility as compared to conventional barcode. Today, many marketers have been using the QR code for marketing of their products; still there is lack of knowledge on orientation of QR Code usage and various trends among the consumers. QR codes are fast and simple medium to take consumers from the physical to the virtual world, through their smart phone in just seconds. The paper presents the basics of QR code and highlights the brands that have been using QR code for the marketing of their products.
