Abstract

Mg0.5Ba0.5Ga2O4 doped with 0.1 Eu3+ has been synthesized by high temperature solid state reaction using powders of high purity (99.99%) MgCO3 ,BaCO3, Ga2O3, Eu2O3. Characterization of Mg0.5Ba0.5Ga2O4:0.1 Eu3+ includes X-ray diffraction analysis, SEM and photoluminescence (PL) studies to know about the photoluminescence application of the material.XRD studies revealed that the prepared ceramic is single phase with hexagonal structure and PL emission spectra of was recorded by exciting the sample at 393 nm corresponds to  strong emission peaks centered at 613 nm.
