Abstract
Melanoma is the most aggressive and chemoresistant form of skin cancer.SK-MEL-28 cell line is one of a series of melanoma cell lines.The objective of the present investigation is to study the anticancer activity of Ruthenium(II)-bipyridine-phendionecomplex{[Ru(bpy)2(phendione)]2+ (bpy = 2,2’-bipyridine and phendione = 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione)} on SK-MEL-28 cell line. Themorphology of the SK-MEL-28 cell line at various concentrations of the [Ru(bpy)2(phendione)]2+complex is assessed by two-fold dilution method and the invitro anti-proliferative effect of the complex on the cell line is analysed by direct microscopic observation.
