Abstract
I met Faiz Ahmed 'Faiz' in 1980, when he came to India for the Jashn-e- Faiz. He was a close friend of my mother's maternal uncle, YugalMehra of AIR (later Salman Ahmed of Pakistan Radio), the father of General Mehra of the Indian Army and grandfather of Salma Agha, the Pakistani singer (the romance of whose grandparents is mentioned in Manto's 'My Bombay Friends').
