Abstract
The potential they have must be realized and they (women) be given appropriate place under the sun. Women empowerment means the multi-faceted upliftment of women. It means progress and betterment of females, but on the global scale. According to Sushama Sahay (1998), “Empowerment is an active, multi-dimensional process which enables women to realize their full identity and powers in all spheres of life”. The women empowerment includes social, political, mental, moral, educational, cultural development and so on. Toni Morrison is an agent who worked for this noble cause.
